It also depends how many orders you place. Had to wait 30minutes or more after ordering 5 ice creams. Almost always at least 20 minutes of wait during weekend evening.
Maybe you could use a service like task rabbit to pick up and deliver the gifts.
Only place in Japantown to get matcha soft serve. But watermelon sorbet was out of this world. Frozen and tasty.
Staff is friendly. They let you try all the flavors before you order. The tofu tastes just like soybean milk 豆浆. There are also a variety of toppings. Other flavors include matcha and sesame. There is also a seasonal flavor.
Was it the best ice cream I've ever had? No. But it was a rare and warm day and we decided to treat ourselves. The small was plenty for me. The thing about the fish cone, is that you gotta eat quick otherwise the ice cream melts right through it and all over your hands. If you have time to kill and a sweet tooth to fulfill, it's worth checking out.
Deliciously warm taiyaki! I’m a big fan of anything matcha and the ice cream here definitely did not disappoint. The service was great and there was no wait both to order and to get the ice cream!
we drove to Japantown for some ujitime dessert black sesame + matcha swirl 🦠and their limited July flavor lavender, which I got in a redbean-filled taiyaki cone with tofu soft serve swirl (I really wanted to try the tofu one and it was delish) topped with matcha pocky sticks and dango (mochi balls with a brown sugar syrup). Long lines but move quickly
Green tea soft serve ice cream here is hands down the best I have ever had so far in the city! The line up looks long but it actually goes by very quick and is worth the wait! I will definitely be coming back!
Black sesame and matcha with red bean filling at the bottom. There's also a tofu soft-serve flavor option. The photo is of the large size. It's a little expensive and they can't serve it hot and freshly baked since the ice cream would melt, but still worth a try if you're in the area.
Decent ice cream. Try with fillings.
I always come here whenever I’m in San Francisco. They have the best taiyaki!
Delicious ice cream! Perfect place to go to after eating at a restaurant nearby. The taiyaki comes warm, and you could choose no filling, sesame filling or hazelnut chocolate filling (nutella). If you ask, they could give you a taste of the ice cream. For an order of small you could get one flavor ice cream and two toppings.
Loved the soft serve but not a huge fan of the fish cone. It wasn't as fresh as I was hoping and it tasted very eggy.
I was not a fan of the small selection of flavors but each flavor tastes very authentic. The cones are very tasty and I thought that they gave generous portions.
The hype is real!We went there on a Saturday to Japan Town and there was a huge line for this place.I decided on the seasonal flavor of lavendar and because I'm a young female I had to get the fish cone for my 'gram :) and it did not disappoint! The lavendar was delicious and the fish cone was fresh and warm.Price was, it's what you would expect for SF and hype wise, it was worth it.
Love the hojicha ice cream with the cone. If you get taiyaki, the stuffing is pretty down low.
Sesame icecream and passion fruit mochi. Yum!! I recommend the sesame icecream for sure!!
Small ice cream shop inside Japan Town. The black sesame ice cream and taiyaki is excellent. Moved through the line fairly quickly and the cashier was very polite. I will come back here again.
I got the small taiyaki cone with with matcha ice cream, matcha powder and red bean paste. The ice cream itself was good, but probably not the best I've had. The matcha powder helped increase the green tea taste of the ice cream. The taiyaki cone was perfect making up for any lost flavor of the ice cream. I would recommend if you have never eaten a fresh taiyaki cone before.
Pretty yummy. The fish shape cone taste like a sugar cone, but the texture is closer to a thin dense cake. I got the lavender honey and black sesame ice cream with red bean as a filling. Really good! One of my daughters ordered mochi and said it was very good too.The novelty was worth the price.
Love the tofu and black sesame flavors here with taiyaki red bean cone. Definitely consider trying the swirl of those two. Matcha is good too.
Always seems to have a line. Most of the soft serve ice cream are very flavorful. The seasonal flavors are refreshing and very flavorful. The fish shape shell with red beans goes well with the ice cream and is different from other places.
Pretty good place. I haven't had any of the flavors they were offering in the past, except for green tea ice cream. It's the first time I've tried toasted sesame flavored ice cream, it was better than I expected. Right when you walk in, you can smell the deliciousness of their taiyaki. I definitely want to come back and try the other products.
Delicious ice cream and cones, tasty toppings, flexible ordering, fast service. We had a great time.I liked how they were flexible about exactly what we ordered. I'm also glad they had a small size cone option, though it is still quite large. We ordered the matcha flavor, which was strong and deep--very satisfying. I tasted to black sesame. It's also excellent. I'd love to try it with the Nutella they offer.
The soft serve has a really nice, thick, and creamy texture. I have alternated between getting the matcha and the black sesame flavors. There may be a wait for the taiyaki cone so ask how long the wait is before you decide.
Quick service! Pictured is Ube flavor. Not pictured was black sesame. Ube was delicious, first time tasting it! It’s like a vanilla-y nutty flavor? It was SOO good and I’m hooked. Black seasame tasted like sweetened sesame oil which sounds gross but was surprisingly tasty but I could only have a little because sesame is just so strongly flavored haha. Fish cone was also super cute!
the fish cakes were so yummy, decided to get one by itself! The staff there are super nice and the ice cream is good. Wish they had more flavors but besides that I loved it.
The ice cream was pretty good. I don't recommend to get the large because it was melting by the time I got half through.
I couldnt wait to try the taiyaki (fish shaped pastry cone) and the black sesame ice cream with poppy seeds was so good! There was only a small line when we went and some great flavors! The ice cream came out really quickly and it looked so cute!
It's ok place. Not worth to wait in line. Got matcha green tea & red bean flavor mochi. Sweet & chewy but no taste of red bean & matcha just purely sweet. Tried honey lavender (seasonal flavor) soft serve. Strong lavendar flavor which is great but not creamy instead more like slush & icy. I will choose Matcha Maiko more than this place.
pretty yummy! just got the tofu soft serve and it was delicious. tastes a little more like soy milk than tofu, but you can definitely taste a tofu flavor in there. had the matcha in the past and it was awesome!
Line is a little long, service can be a little slow, but it's a pretty good fix for soft serve and the Instagram post.
Their roasted purple yam ice cream is delicious, this is something I wish we had in Sacramento or Modesto. I will be craving more of this purple ice cream forever now!! I will be back when I'm back in SF.
If you are a big fan of matcha green tea ice cream, you shall not miss this joint. I have tried matcha green tea ice cream in many places even at gourmet ice cream factory as well. No place make it like Uji does, the flavor is well balanced in sweetness and just enough of cream but not overwhelming. The tofu was an interesting one also.
One of my fave dessert shops just because the ice cream doesn’t taste too sweet but it’ll still curb your sweet tooth. Make sure to go into the Japan center shopping center to find it! There is no seating inside but there are benches right outside.
One of my favorite ice cream spots! The taiyaki is another level of delicious cone .
Love the matcha green tea soft serve ice cream in a waffle cone. Perfect end after a Japanese meal at a nearby restaurant.
Solid dessert place in Japantown with a decent line whenever you go! I enjoy getting the large size taiyaki with matcha. They have some strange flavors like tofu sometimes that you can try while in line. I rarely get toppings since it’s an extra charge and not as worth it.
Matcha Taiyaki (fish cone) is the most famous flavor, with the read bean filling inside and the matcha ice cream and toppings on top. Wow when i ate for the first time, i must to say it really really amazing. You should come and taste it. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸
Delicious with the sesame and marcha swirl - not too sweet and the cone filled with some nutella - yum!!!
Totally worth the 5 stars!! Great ice cream, great service, great price and just so delicious!!
I was taken here by my friend and it was a very nice change of your normal flavors. Ended up getting a large black sesame taiyaki with red bean filling and it was really good! And cute. We also decided to try out the mochi ice cream. Wouldn't get another but can't say we didn't like the experience. It did take a few minutes to get our stuff since we had 5 people but we didn't mind. Would go back for more taiyaki
Amazing favors! They just have a few options Cones are really good You have to wait in a long line.
Taiyaki!!! IG - @masturplater$7 for a small which comes with 2 toppings but only 3 ice cream flavors - matcha, black sesame, and tofu Filled with either Nutella or red bean paste. Pretty quick service, everyone working there seems like high school age and you can tell they’re trying! Long lineFree water also :)
Cute little shop servicing Taiyaki ice cream.
Authentic and delicious taiyaki! 100% highly recommended! Great staff and service!
A must stop if you're in the area! You can't get ice cream like this anywhere else, the flavors are so unique and fresh.
The sesame ice cream was delicious and quite interesting. Not the best ice cream I've ever had but definitely worth a few more visits. The cashier was very polite and welcoming. Also has a nice place to sit outside the store to enjoy your ice cream and a colored wall for the gram!
Love the novelty of this place. I'm always looking for something fun to try. The Taiyaki cone is just adorable and the colors of the ice cream drew me straight to the line. I had the black sesame soft serve. There was no line at all when I went on a Thursday around 1 pm. Delicious and fun!
Warm taiyaki filled with cold, creamy soft serve. What a great combination! I love the black sesame soft serve with red bean and whatever that nutty-flavored dusting is (toasted rice flour?). I always try to stop by when I'm in Japantown.
